Argentina's coach

World Cup 2010 Match of the Century,

Argentina's coach, Diego Maradona, was a legendary scorer and his best striker, Lionel Messi is consistently compared to Maradona. It is hard enough to live up to a national icon the likes of Maradona but to have him on the same pitch watching your every move has to take a toll on Messi.

Although Messi has yet to score a goal, it has not been for lack of trying. Messi has 22 shots in four World Cup matches, with 10 legitimate scoring opportunities. Messi does only have one assist so far in this World Cup but he does have an impact on Argentina's World Cup run so far in the tournament. He has garnered the attention of every teams defense. If Messi does have a breakout match Saturday, Argentina will prevail.

The advantage of having a predominantly young squad is that Germany has players without fear of losing in the World Cup. Most World Cup players have a fear of losing or giving up a goal. Not this German team, they are focused on keeping it in the opponents end and applying pressure.

Young goal scorer Thomas Mller has led the German team with four goals so far in this World Cup. The 21 year old is fearless and tough to stop when he breaks from midfield. Meanwhile, Germany's former World Cup Golden Boot winner, Miroslav Klose, has been overshadowed by the young gun on his own team. Germany may be the only team besides Brazil that can outlast Argentina in a scoring battle.

Goalkeepers Will Face Their Toughest Test of Their Short Careers

Both goalkeepers in this World Cup match have performed at a high level in their group matches and the round of 16. Sergio Romero of Argentina and Manuel Neuer will be the keys to their teams advancing in the World Cup. Both keepers have only allowed two goals in four World Cup matches and each has nine saves. If this match comes down to a shootout, hold on to your seat and grab your popcorn.

Final Breakdown of Argentina vs Germany to Advance in World Cup

This World Cup match will be won at midfield. Argentina is a scoring threat at all times but their play at midfield is where it all begins. Argentina uses a two pronged attack which is very concise. If the right center midfielder takes off with ball the left center midfielder attacks in concert with him. The process has four other versions depending on who is in possession of the ball. Each player has a specific role and they move the ball with an eloquent synchronicity that is mesmerizing.

Germany's challenge is to be themselves and continue their youthful attacking style on defense as well as offense. Germany also must focus on keeping Argentina's offense bottled up, not allowing long crossing passes and upsetting their agenda as much as possible.

If this World Cup match is not the most exciting and highest scoring match of the tournament it will be extremely disappointing. The winner of this match has a golden opportunity to win the World Cup and become legend. This match is what the World Cup is all about.
